Wales boss Coleman feeling confident

Wales boss Chris Coleman insists his team have nothing to fear at the European Championship following their 3-0 win over Russia on Monday night.

Coleman’s men picked up an emphatic victory thanks to goals from Aaron Ramsey, Neil Taylor and Gareth Bale.

Wales’ win and England’s goalless draw against Slovakia ensured Coleman’s side topped Group B on what was a memorable night for Welsh football.

Wales were expected to struggle when the draw was made but their work rate and class up front has seen them through, and Coleman insists their fairytale can continue.

Although they were beaten 2-1 by England, Coleman believes his team will fear nobody in the knockout stage.

He said: “We will savour it. The players were brave tonight, they did everything they are capable of on the ball, which we did not do against England. “I said there was more to come from this group of players; they are on the way to something else, I am just glad we are on it with them. “We will have to see who we get next – we will respect everyone – but we have nothing to fear.”

“I’ve been a player myself. I’m so lucky to be experiencing something now as a manager, at a tournament, and to see the team perform like that, it’s really pleasing. “I’m immensely proud. Nights like tonight when you see your supporters… as a nation, geographically we’re small. But for heart, we were a continent tonight.”
