Pogba – France can handle pressure
01/06/2016France midfielder Paul Pogba believes his side can handle the pressure of being one of the favourites to win Euro 2016 on home soil.
The hosts are being tipped by many to claim their third European Championship crown, following their successes at the finals in 1984 and 2000.
Juventus youngster Paul Pogba is expected to play a major role in the heart of the Les Bleus midfield during the finals and he insists that Didier Deschamps squad are relishing the pressure of hosting the tournament.
He said: “‘It’s a pressure, but at the same time, it is pure joy to be able to play in front of your own people. That’s our strength this time.”
The 23-year-old sees no reason why France cannot win the tournament this summer, as he believes they have the right blend of youth and experience within their squad. He added: “‘It would be great to entertain them with our performances.
We have a very good chance of winning the tournament. We have a good side, experienced but young and hungry.” France have been placed in Group A for the finals, where they will take on Romania, Albania and Switzerland for a place in the last 16.
Les Bleus will kick-off the competition against the Romanians on June 10 and they are available at 1.30 to secure a victory in the match, while Anghel Iordanescu’s side are on offer at 12.00 and the draw is priced at 4.75.
