Pogba determined to go all the way

France midfielder Paul Pogba has set his sights on winning the European Championships this summer as he hopes his side will take their chance on home soil.

France will take on Romania, Switzerland and Albania in Group A and they will kick off the tournament against the former on June 10.

Didier Deschamps’ side are the 4.00 favourites to win the tournament but they will have to do it without the likes of Karim Benzema, Mathieu Valbuena and Mamadou Sakho.

However, Pogba, Hugo Lloris and Antoine Griezmann are all expected to have big tournaments as Deschamps’ men try to live up to expectations. They have failed to deliver in recent years but Pogba is confident they can improve after their promising showing at the 2014 World Cup.

France were beaten in the quarter-finals by Germany but the Juventus star is confident the current squad has the ability to deliver this summer. He told FIFA.com: “We have a very good group of players and a coach with lots of experience who has won the World Cup.

“I think he can help us go all the way and achieve all our goals. I hope winning the Euro’s will be my first trophy with the French team, I really want to win the Euro’s.

“We won the World Cup in France and I hope we will win the Euro’s at home too and after that we will have to see what happens next.”
