Muller unconcerned by lack of goals

Germany forward Thomas Muller insists he is not worried by his failure to score so far at Euro 2016.

The 26-year-old has failed to find the back of the net in his side’s opening two matches of the tournament, against Ukraine and Poland, while he is also yet to score a goal in seven appearances at European Championship finals.

The Bayern Munich ace’s poor record at the Euros is in stark contrast to his goalscoring exploits at World Cups, as he has scored five goals at both the 2010 and 2014 editions of the global tournament, the latter of which Germany won.

Muller insists he is not concerned by his lack of goals at the Euros, as he believes the most important thing is for the team to achieve overall success in France.

He told reporters: “I hope I can score a goal, but as I said already before the tournament, it’s not my main thing. I hope we deliver a good game and that we’ll win.”

The world champions are next in action when they take on Northern Ireland in their final Group C match at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday and they can guarantee their place in the knockout stages with a victory over Michael O’Neill’s side.

Germany are available at 1.29 to secure all three points in Paris, while Northern Ireland are on offer at 12.00 and the draw is priced at 5.50.
