Morata focused on Euros

Alvaro Morata says he will not let the uncertainty over his future at club level distract him from starring for Spain at Euro 2016.

The Juventus striker is widely tipped to leave Turin this summer, with former club Real Madrid believed to have access to a buy-back clause in his contract, while Arsenal are also known to be interested. After a frustrating year in which he has spent large periods on the Juve bench, Morata says he is considering his options but any deal is likely to be concluded after the Euros.

Morata netted twice for La Roja on Wednesday as they defeated South Korea 6-1 in their penultimate warm-up game for the tournament and could well start for his country in France.

Spain begin their campaign on June 13 against the Czech Republic in Toulouse, a game they are 1.44 to win, with the draw 4.00 and Pavel Vrba’s men 7.50.

Despite the attention surrounding his future, the 23-year-old says he is only thinking about the Euros and is not getting distracted by the ongoing rumours. “I’m just another player in the national team,” he said. “It’s been a tough year for me and I can’t be content with just being here, I want to play. “My future? Everything I say, then what’s reported…I said who wouldn’t want to play for Madrid? But I’ve seen other things I haven’t said. I’m focused on the Euros and what happens, happens.”

Morata is currently priced at 21.00 to be the tournament’s top scorer, with Germany’s Thomas Muller currently leading the betting at 8.00.
