Ledley rocked by injury

Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has been rocked by the news that he will miss the FA Cup final with a fractured leg and he may also miss the European Championships.

The former Celtic midfielder picked up the injury in last week’s 2-1 win over Stoke City and he was forced off after colliding with Scotland’s Charlie Adam.

Original reports suggested it was an Achilles problem but scans have now shown that the Welshman has fractured his leg.

The injury rules him out of the final game of the season against Southampton this weekend and Palace’s trip to Wembley to take on Manchester United in the FA Cup final on May 21st.

Ledley has yet to be ruled out of Euro 2016 but his latest injury means he is a big doubt to play for Chris Coleman’s side in France.

Coleman named Ledley in his 29-man squad that was due to travel to Portugal on Monday for a training camp as he tries to prepare his team for their first major tournament since 1958.

Ledley played a huge role in Wales’ qualifying campaign and Coleman may be forced to look at other options.

Joe Allen, David Vaughan, David Cotterill, Jonny Williams and Aaron Ramsey are all fighting for starting spots this summer as they try to help Wales climb out of Group B.

Wales have been drawn against England, Slovakia and Russia and they are available at odds of 5.50 to win the group.
